Absolutely exceeded my expectations and I was expecting a lot due to the higher price compared to other benchtop dust collection systems. The CFM is over double of others that I was considering, but I knew I wasn’t going to be able to place it on my bench in a way where I could hold the carving under the shroud, so I decided to go with this one in hopes that the extra power with pull the dust in, and it did. Extremely well-made and very powerful! Literally pulled the dust away from my power carving tool and carving, and it did this from about 12 inches outside of the plastic shroud. There wasn’t even any dust under my hands. It pulled it all into the filter. I am very impressed! Please keep in mind, I don’t do any heavy power carving. Most of my carving is done with traditional carving tools, but I use a power carver to shape and detail my carvings. Got tired of all the fine dust everywhere and coughing. It was a real mess and a health hazard and I knew I had to do something. I’ve been rigging up various contraptions trying to catch the dust and I had some luck, but there was always some that would escape. This collector was the answer to my problems and I am so very thankful that such a powerful tool exists. It is a little loud and it is a little heavy, but I would say that is due to the massive motor and fan system that this unit has. At first I thought the way that the plastic shroud is attached was a little cheesy. Velcro! But, I soon realized the reason for this design when I removed the filter. The Velcro makes it very quick and easy to remove the plastic doors if you need to. I would rather have it the way it is than metal hinges. A unique design to say the least, but someone obviously put some thought to this and used the machine and came up with attaching the shroud in this manner for a reason. Now I can focus on my carving and not worry about the dust. Also, I appreciate the quick shipping. I received mine four days after I ordered it.
